Driving Under Influences: Welcome!

A group of friends pull straws. The youngest chap loses the draw to become the designated driver (DD) for the night.  At the bar, he asks for a non-alcoholic beer.  The bartender regrets to inform him that they don’t carry de-alcoholized beer.

This situation happens far too often.  Why do bars never carry non-alcoholic beer? The DDs should be able to drink with their friends!  Bar owners should be looking at the social impact on the younger members of society. The generation-Y has a right to live in a society that embraces responsible drinking choices.

To lower drunk driving rates and increase road safety, it’s important for bars and pubs to join the movement. More bars should offer incentives, such as free soda and water, to sober drivers. Many bar patrons enjoy the refreshing and crisp taste of beer, with or without alcohol.  By providing a broader selection of drink options for designated drivers, bars can help save lives and keep our roads safe!

    About

    March 17, 2011

Driving Under Influences (DUI) is a grassroots organization that is committed to stopping impaired driving.

DUI’s primary goal is to bring attention to the prevalence of impaired driving and to support the efforts of students, teachers and campus bar employees to prevent their peers from driving under various influences.

DUI strives to provide a forum of discussion and enhance the knowledge of students, teachers, campus bar employees, family and friend and any concerned citizens who want to make a difference in the fight against impaired driving.

We strongly believe that it is our duty to promote safe driving habits and to raise awareness about the dangers of impaired driving by alcohol, drugs and sleep deprivation to save lives and prevent injuries.

Driving while under the influences of alcohol, drugs and sleep deprivation is a terrible crime that touches all of our lives and it is an irresponsible, dangerous and intolerable act.
